About the role

 

 

ICYMHS Community Teams are multi-disciplinary teams providing specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with young people aged 4 to 25, presenting with a range of mental health concerns, high levels of distress and other psycho-social difficulties. The Lilydale Community Team works closely with young people, their families/supporters and care systems to provide systemic, relational and recovery based mental health care. The Senior Speech pathologist will work with young people case managed by the team and will provide specialist speech pathology assessment, consultation, intervention and work collaboratively with the young person and the system around them regarding outcomes and recommendations. This is an opportunity for a Senior Speech Pathologist to join a supportive and skilled team, where there are structures that support clinician growth and development.

 

 

About you 

 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

 

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia including demonstrated evidence of professional development activities equivalent to Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist requirements.
  • A demonstrated capacity to inspire, influence, lead and motivate staff and to contribute to a positive and compassionate organisational culture. 
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical thinking and investigative skills involving research & quality improvement activities, benchmarking and resource identification, including innovative, service delivery models 
  • Experience in assessment and delivery of assessment in one to one models for clients. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to utilise a parent capacity building model 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, efficient work practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and applying current clinical knowledge.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, leadership and conflict management, in order to facilitate effective team functioning.  
  • Demonstrated capacity to conduct supervision with students, and to provide coaching, mentoring or peer support .

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
